Casting Dreams
We all have dreams!
Those big, bold visions that make our hearts race and our imaginations soar.
Throughout history, people have used materials like brass, bronze, and iron to turn their dreams into reality by casting them into shapes. Now, it’s your turn! If you are 14-18 years of age, enter the Casting Dreams competition to make your dream a reality through the art of metal casting!
Here’s the essentials
● Register here for the Casting Dreams competition. We will partner you with a local resource to help make your casting. If you are under 18, we will send a permission form that a parent or guardian will need to sign and return.
● Create your dream casting and mail it to SFSA at 780 McArdle Unit G, Crystal Lake, IL 60014 by March 29, 2024. You will receive a prepaid postage box.
● Your casting should weigh less than 10 kg (22 lb.) and must fit in the prepaid box (11″ x 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″)
● Tell your story – submit a short narrative explaining why, how, and what inspired your dream masterpiece.
● The best castings will be showcased at the Metalcasting Congress in Milwaukee from April 23 to 25, 2024.
● All qualified entries will earn a certificate of achievement and a $25 gift card recognition prize.
● If your casting wows the judges with its originality, quality, and intrigue, you’ll get a certificate of accomplishment and a $50 award.
● And if your casting is truly exceptional – a work of art that dazzles with its beauty, creativity, and quality – you’ll earn national recognition and a fantastic $100 award!
● Don’t forget to show your social media skills. The best use of social media will also snag a $300 award.
